Hello,

I will try to explain my email briefly. I live in the Coachella Valley; our area has a sub-standard mobile home park Duroville, for working poor migrant farm workers. It has been in the news over the past several years because of the living conditions of the residents in the park.

In our local newspaper today, The Desert Sun, there was featured a story of a resident who is out of work and nearly homeless himself who gets up at 5:00 AM daily to feed the 700 wild dogs that live in the park. His name is Mr. Pedro Ponce. In his words, "I have many enemies here because they don't like the dogs." He collects cans and bottles to buy dog food each week. Cesar, this man is trying so hard to help these dogs and teach the owners to neuter/spay their pets, as we do have services offered at a discount or free in some cases to pet owners.

I realize you are very busy man, but if there is some way for you to communicate with this community to help them understand how easy it is to control their pet population... Mr. Pedro Ponce has your love and heart for dogs. He is a good man and I would like to see him recognized for his efforts. You can read the story for yourself on The Desert Sun's website.

Warm Regards,
Jan Higgins
